Facial Skin Resurfacing

Goal: To remove various facial skin irregularities, i.e. acne or measles scarring, post traumatic and iatrogenic scars, keratosis seborrhea, superficial tattoos, spotty pigmentations and fine wrinkles. In this way the skin becomes softer, lighter and tightened, free of prominences, pores, scars and fine wrinkles around the eyes or mouth.

Surgical technique:

Dermabrasion: Performed manually or using special device with high-speed rotating abrasive cylinders which remove superficial and medium depth layers of the damaged facial skin.

Chemical Peel: Application of various acids in different concentrations (phenol, glycolic acid, trichloracetic acid etc.) on the facial skin.

Electrosurgical technology that uses low-radiofrequency energy or laser for facial skin resurfacing, which often has some unpredictable effects and long-lasting recovery.

After the treatment vaseline gauzes soaked in antibiotic ointment are applied on the facial skin.

Duration and anesthesia: Performed under local anesthesia (5% topical anesthetic cream), analgosedation is usually needed for the chemical peel.

Recovery: Step by step removal of all gauzes during one week, make-up in two weeks and sun protection during next few months.

Rare complications: Mild edema and redness. Hyperpigmentation is usually due to early exposure to UV radiation. and prolonged seroma formation.

Gold Filaments Implants

Golden filaments are the ecologically pure material which stimulates collagen and elastic fibers formation under the skin and in that way acts on the facial skin tightening. This is painless and bloodless cosmetic-surgical procedure for the facial rejuvenation which can replace classical facelift in patients whose skin is not too loose.

Goal: Tightening of the facial skin in patients with not too evident skin laxity.

Operative technique: Following the pattern of the previously marked spots on the facial skin, the special 24 carat-gold 0.1 mm tiny threads are pulled under the skin in the network manner. Visible results are expected during the period from three weeks to three months, the time necessary for the body to react by formation of elastic and collagen fibers around gold filaments.

Duration and anesthesia: The procedure is performed under local anesthesia and lasts around 30 minutes. Special cream is applied on the skin and the patient released.

Rare complication: swelling .

Feather Lift

Feather Lift is a Day Surgery Procedure to give the face a "fresh look or appearance" It corrects the tired worn out look by lifting up the sagging or ptotic facial features such as the eyebrows or cheeks and sagging jaw line with special threads called Aptos threads.

A primary feature of aging is fat atrophy with initial loss of firmness, then of fullness leading finally to lax redundant skin. This progressive volume loss leads to flattening of facial features. The optimum treatment of early aging of the face is restoration of the structural volume deficit with autogenous fat micrografts. This does not suit a lot of patients. A conventional face lift is a fairly invasive procedure resulting in fairly large scars and requires some weeks off work.

In Feather Lift the sagging facial features are moved and held up in a more youthful position with improvement in facial features.

The procedure may be carried out under local anesthesia; more usually it is performed under sedation and local anesthesia. The flabby soft tissues of the face are uplifted with special suture or thread material. This new suture material called

Aptos (Antiptosis) Threads has cogs built into it in the manufacturing process. After the suture is inserted under the skin, the cogs provide uniform gathering of the tissues. The convergent cogs inside the uplifted tissues provide support and fixation of the newly created contour. These special threads are inserted into the subcutaneous fat with the help of a long fine guide needles.

Rare complication: swelling, bleeding.

Wire Scalpel

This procedure improves significantly the deep smile lines beyond the corners of the mouth and permanent frown lines at the root of the nose. The aim is to produce a more youthful, softer look. In the upper face it improves "sour angry" look by significantly reducing the permanent frown lines. In the lower face it improves the deep heavy concave smile lines that contribute to a tired or aged look or appearance.

The procedure is carried out under local anesthesia. A fine needle with a specially made wire attached at its end is threaded under the frown or smile line region; a seesaw manipulation action releases the deep surface of the skin from the deep fascia. This maneuver separates wrinkles from the deep muscles. Bruising and swelling is usually slight.
