Calf Augmentation

Goal: To correct the shape and volume of the thin calves, as well as the correction of the calf asymmetry due to a past disease or trauma.

Operative technique: Incision about 3 cm long is placed in the popliteal fossa and on the inner side of the calf a subfascial pocket is created where the long spindle-shape or teardrop-shape silicone implant is placed.

Duration and anesthesia: Usually lasts about one hour in general anesthesia.

Recovery: Stitches are removed after 14 days, and physical activities that require efforts of the leg muscles, like long walks or running, should be avoided 4 weeks.

Rare complications: Calf edema and bruises. Mild pain and other unpleasant sensations during long standing and physical activities may last as long as two months.

Buttock Contour

Goal: Buttock enlargement and/or buttock lift is usually performed using specially designed gluteal implants. For the buttock reduction and lifting, superficial liposuction or "tanga lift" are usually performed.

Operative technique: The implants are placed through a vertical incision in the upper part of the gluteal fold, just above the coccygeal bone, one incision for both parts. They are positioned under the great gluteal muscle.

Duration and anesthesia: Usually lasts about 1.5 hours in general anesthesia.

Recovery: Sitting position a bit tough for a few days after the surgery and the stitches are removed in 2 weeks.

Rare complications: Edema and sitting discomfort first few weeks. The implants can be sometimes positioned too high. as long as two months.

Abdominoplasty

Goal: To remove skin and fat excess of the abdominal wall.

Operative technique: So called bikini line incision is placed horizontally in the lower abdomen just above the pubic region, and deep to the abdominal wall muscles. Excess skin and adipose tissue are removed and umbilicus eventually transposed higher up. If necessary, liposuction of the hips, buttocks and lumbal region can be performed at the same time, as well as the abdominal muscles re-enforcement. Aspiration drains are placed for a few days.

Duration and anesthesia: The procedure is performed under general anesthesia and lasts 1.5-3 hours, depending on the extensiveness. The easier operation is mini abdominalplasty, just the removal of the hanging lower abdomen.

Recovery: Drains are removed in 2 - 3 days, and stitches in 2 weeks. After the surgery elastic garment is worn for about one month and the patients are advised to refrain from intensive physical activities during that period.

Rare complications: Abdominal wall edema and prolonged seroma formation.

Liposculpture Of The Body

Goal: Recontouring the body figure by removing excessive fat from different parts of the body: hips, back, upper abdomen, buttocks, knees, ankles etc. Removed fat can be filtrated and reused as fat injections to correct skin irregularities, impressions, wrinkles, thin lips, cheeks, bottom enhancement etc.

Surgical technique: Through small stab skin incisions using special thin cannulas, fat is aspirated. Cannulas can be different in size and shape (2-6 mm in diameter) in order to remove fat from different layers equally. Prior to aspiration, infiltration of fat with saline solution, adrenaline and local anesthetic can be performed for comfort of the patient and prevention of complications. In our department we use PAL (vibrating), ultrasound or Simple liposuction machine, depending on the type of fat.

Duration and anesthesia: Depending on the region 1 - 2 hours. Local, with analgosedation or general anesthesia.

Recovery: Usual activities after 5-7 days. Immediately after procedure, special compression garments are worn for 1 month in order to allow excessive skin to retract.

Rare complications: Transitory bruises and mild edema which disappear within two weeks. Transitory sensitivity disorders of the skin, irregularities of the skin contour, are also possible. To avoid this complication early massage are suggested.
