Breast Enlargement

Goal: Breast augmentation and improvement of breast contour by using double coated textured cohesive gel-filled or smooth cohesive gel-filled implants.

Surgical technique: Most common approach is incision in the sub mammary line, under the breast. Incision is about 4 cm long and it is completely invisible, hidden in the sub mammary line. Implants can be placed under or above the pectoral muscle, so the mammary gland remains completely intact. Other surgical approaches are through the nipple or through the axillary's region.

Types of implants: Round (low, high, extra and ultra high profile), anatomical and asymmetric.

Duration and anesthesia: 1.5 hours in general anesthesia.

Recovery: Usual activities after few days. Stitches are removed after two weeks. Suspension bra is recommended for 6 weeks.

Rare complications: Temporary sensitivity disorder and mild oedema which disappear within 2-4 weeks.

Breast Reduction, Breast Lift

Goal: Volume reduction, breast lift, reshaping of large and flaccid breasts.

Surgical technique: There are many surgical techniques depending on the size and shape of breasts. Among them the most common are:

1. Inverted T technique which assumes circular scar around the areola, one vertical and one horizontal scar (hidden in the sub mammary line).
2. Vertical technique, with circular scar around the areola and one vertical scar with wrinkles which disappear within two months.
3. Peri areolar technique, only with one circular scar around the areola. This technique is not suitable for very large breasts.

Duration and anesthesia: 1.5 - 3 hours in general anesthesia

Recovery: Usual activities after 5 - 7 days. Stitches are removed after 2 weeks. Suspension bra is recommended for 6 weeks.

Rare complications: Temporary sensitivity loss, mild edema which passes in 2-4 weeks, possible small cysts in glandular tissue.
